BLUEFIELD, Va. – Dr. Robert Brandon, newly appointed president of in Dublin, Virginia, visited the campus of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ University to meet with university leadership and discuss transfer opportunities between the two institutions.
During his visit, Brandon met with ¹û¶³´«Ã½ University President Dr. Steve Peterson, Provost Dr. Michael Salmeier, and other university leaders to explore strengthening pathways for New River Community College students to transfer to ¹û¶³´«Ã½ University to complete their four-year degrees.
¹û¶³´«Ã½ University remains committed to making higher education more affordable and accessible for transfer students. The university recently announced a tuition freeze, ensuring that undergraduate tuition rates remain stable for the upcoming academic year. In addition, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ offers competitive scholarships and financial aid packages designed to support students transferring from community colleges.
Transfer students may also benefit from Virginia’s Two-Year College Transfer Grant Program (CTG), which provides an incentive for students to first complete an associate degree at a Virginia public two-year college before transferring to a participating four-year institution. Eligible students who meet program requirements—including maintaining a 3.0 GPA, enrolling full-time at a participating four-year institution, and demonstrating financial need—may receive state-funded financial assistance to help offset the cost of tuition.
