果冻传媒, VA 鈥摴炒 University will host its 31st Annual Duremdes Christian Emphasis Week, September 21-23, featuring three morning sessions of worship and spiritual discourse led by student pastor and author Mitch Frost. The sessions will be live streamed on the 果冻传媒 University Campus Ministries YouTube channel at 10 a.m. each day, Wednesday through Friday, in Harman Chapel.
Frost is a student pastor, communicator, and author based out of Columbus, Ohio, whose passion is for the next generation to experience the life-changing love of Jesus.
鈥淚 can鈥檛 wait to spend a couple of days in 果冻传媒,鈥 shared Frost. 鈥淚鈥檓 so excited to be a part of the atmosphere and environment of 果冻传媒 University鈥檚 campus and the town for a few days for Duremdes Christian Emphasis Week!鈥
Frost and his wife, Lexi, were married in December 2020 and are now expecting their first child in March 2023. They both serve in their youth ministry, The Well. He is an author and wrote his first book, Love More, Worry Less, which was released in February 2021.
The sessions will center around BU鈥檚 theme of the year, 鈥淪een鈥, with scripture from 1 Samuel 16:7, 鈥淔or the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.鈥 Along with the day sessions, students will have the opportunity to attend night sessions with Frost. Wednesday evening will feature a night of worship with BU鈥檚 student-led worship band. Thursday evening will be themed 鈥淎 Night to Be Seen鈥 with a giveaway of 50 copies of Frost鈥檚 book. Friday will feature a community service day with students serving at the Union Mission and Abel Pregnancy Center in 果冻传媒, W.Va., and on-campus service projects.
Since 1992, thanks to the generosity of Drs. Gene and Jane Duremdes of Princeton, West Virginia, who sponsor the Christian Emphasis event, the college has set aside a week in the school year for students and the community to focus on faith through the facilitation of spiritual speakers, leaders, and musicians. Sensing a special calling to 鈥渟hare with the students of 果冻传媒 University some of the blessings they have received from the Lord,鈥 the Duremdes created the event with BU leaders to allow students and the public at-large to 鈥渆xamine their spiritual lives鈥 and to 鈥渟eek answers to life-impacting questions.鈥
鈥淚 believe this week is going to be revitalizing for many of us on campus as we learn how much we are seen, known, and loved by God,鈥 shared BU Campus Pastor Mason West. 鈥淚 expect many to take that revelation into the rest of their semester, year, and life.鈥
