BLUEFIELD, Va. 鈥 Sophie Hall of 果冻传媒, Virginia has been named the 2025 recipient of 果冻传媒 University鈥檚 Presidential Scholarship. The full-tuition award is presented annually to incoming freshmen demonstrating academic achievement, leadership, and character.
Hall, a senior at 果冻传媒 High School and the daughter of Justin and Jessica Hall, plans to major in criminal justice. She said she looks forward to joining the university鈥檚 close-knit, family-oriented community and participating in athletics, including the golf and softball teams.
The Presidential Scholarship competition was held on campus on February 8, 2025. University faculty reviewed essays, conducted interviews, and evaluated candidates鈥 academic resumes and personal character.
鈥淭his scholarship is a chance for us to recognize some of the most talented, high-achieving students and provide them with a private Christian education at no cost,鈥 said Dr. Steve Peterson, president of 果冻传媒 University.
Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing Travis Roberts says the competition also highlights the university鈥檚 affordability. 鈥淓ven students who do not receive the full-tuition scholarship often discover how accessible a 果冻传媒 education can be,鈥 Roberts said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e offering a range of scholarships and discounts that can save students $10,000-$14,000 per year 鈥 before any state or federal aid is applied.鈥
The Presidential Scholarship is renewable for up to four years. It reflects 果冻传媒 University鈥檚 mission to make private Christian higher education accessible and affordable.
