果冻传媒, VA – 果冻传媒 University is accepting nominations for the 5th Annual Dr. Donna Watson Goodness and Light Alumni Award, which will be presented as a part of Homecoming and Family Weekend on Friday, October 22, at 4 P.M. in Easley Library.
After bidding farewell to Dr. Donna Hardy Watson at the close of the 2016-2017 academic year, 果冻传媒 University took steps to ensure that her legacy would remain by creating the Dr. Donna Watson Goodness and Light Alumni Award.
Created collaboratively by the School of Education and Social Science and the Office of Alumni Relations, the Goodness and Light Alumni Award is designed to recognize teacher education graduates who are 鈥渄oing great things in our schools and classrooms.鈥 The award is given annually to recognize an alumnus who embodies Dr. Watson鈥檚 mantra of spreading goodness and light in education.
鈥淚t鈥檚 indeed a privilege to be able to recognize the legacy of Dr. Watson by honoring a graduate from our teacher education program,鈥 said Dr. Shellie Brown, Director of Teacher Education. 鈥淭his award allows us to recognize members of our outstanding alumni base with an honor that best expresses our appreciation for their service to our schools and communities.鈥
